The Sphere O’ Blogs.
New to the Crew:
Molly, over at Dam Diabetes, has added her voice to our chaotic d-chorus. You have to stop by her blog and check out the graphic. I laughed and laughed. Nothing like an over-medicated beaver to start your day right.
Also, one of my personal favorite serial commenters has taken the plunge and started her own blog! Hooray!! Check out Chrissie from Belgium’s blog, Chrissie’s Diabetes Blog.
Have you seen Carey over at Up High … Down Low? He writes about his son Charlie (such a cute little guy), who was diagnosed with type 1. Check out the bit about the robot dad talking to his robot son … it made me honestly laugh out loud at my desk.
You can’t miss Chris and Emma over at Rub Eyes When Needed. Emma is a precocious little girl with a loving, supportive family. She was diagnosed just a few weeks ago and they are learning the ropes as we speak. Stop by and give them your support.
And lastly, if you are looking to add your blog to yet another diabetes blog listing tool, take a skip by The DiabetesBLOGNetwork and sign up. I have been speaking to the creators of this site and they are looking to establish another cumulative resource for the blogosphere. The more, the merrier, I say! They have a relatively comprehensive listing of diabetes blogs, professional d-resources, in addition to other services. Become a DBN affiliate today!
The Mighty ‘Sphere is growing by the day. It never ceases to amaze me, when I think back to May 2005 when I was one of five or six d-bloggers. Now I’m one of more than 140 bloggers.
Cheers to that.
EDIT: Comments are acting up on this post today. I think they're working now. Let me know if you run into any other problems commenting. :)

Hey Kerri, thank you for the shoutout. I'm just floored by the amount of support and kindness from all of you. Thanks for so graciously welcoming me and Charlie into your community.

Hi Kerri,
Your post today got me to finally post my first blog entry! I have a lot to learn about blogging but I have been so inspired by so many of the blogs in the OC that I had to give it a try! Check it out an tell me what you think when you have time!

I'd like to plug Diabetes Daily's brand new Headlines service. We scour 100+ blogs every fifteen minutes for the latest headlines. You can read excerpts without refreshing the page and sort headlines/blogs by category. For example, click on Parent then +Pumping and you'll be looking at headlines from parents whose kids pump.
This is brand new software, so we'd love your feedback!

Carey - You and Charlie, and your wonderful family, and we're happy you've added your voices.
Nina - Hey! Terrific! I just visited your blog and you have an excellent debut post. :)
David - Plug away! I check the Diabetes Daily headlines service every day. It's fantastic and I love the new changes. Great job! I've added a plug to my newswire, too. :)

Thanks, Kerri! I always feel a little guilty tooting our own horn. But for once it's a genuinely useful thing to promote. :)
To all of you just joining us, welcome to the family! It really is a family.

Okay, so the comments appear to be working again. Not sure why they crapped out in the first place. Fire away!

Hi Kerri,
Thanks for the update on all the newbies. I lost track a while ago, and hate to think what I've been missing.
We've got quite the large family going here, don't we?

I'm so grateful that we have the OC and that people are finding us.
I've had other online support systems since Brendon was diagnosed, but the OC by far has been the most supportive, friendly, great advice giving community.
I'm lucky to know all of you (in person and in bloggy world).

Kerri,
Your simply amazing. You are one of the first, if not THE first blog we read relating to diabetes. And you have been a big part of us since. Your writing is so elegant. My wife commented on how positive and honest you write. Leaving us with great feelings all the time.
As for Emma, i hope one day when she is growing with all of this she can read your blogs and adopt the same tremendous attitude that you harbour.
I am once again honored that you mentioned me in your post today.
Take Care
Chris

Kerri,
Your blog is so wonderful - I love your writing. I can't pretend to know what it's like - I'm the mom of a 9-year-old with d, so I appreciate reading about your experiences, even if I don't "get it" first-hand. It helps me to know that she's going to be OK....
I was sure I read about a musician that you liked a little while back...there was a video clip from an appearance on Leno, I think? (sorry, I'm a bit sleep deprived after getting DD going on a pump last week - wahoo!) I can't find it - seems like it was a guy with a guitar, very mellow, possibly a violin in the background? Did I hallucinate it all?

I agree with the sentiment of "the more, the merrier." It's exciting to see so much activity in our little community!

Beth - You did read about a fantastic singer-songwriter here: Damien Rice. Google him up and make sure you purchase his album. He's just tremendous.
